Kitchen Painting Tips: How to Spruce Things Up With Paint

With the variety of primers and paints that are currently available, it is extremely easy to transform an outdated kitchen into something that is beautiful and vibrant.

Paint the Interior of Your Cabinets

If you don’t want to paint the exterior of your cabinets and you aren’t ready to tackle the walls, you can add a pop of color by simply painting the interiors of your cabinets a bold, bright color. You can choose a color that works well with the rest of the décor in your kitchen or that will help show of your dishes if you plan to use the cabinetry as showcase.

Use Contrasting Colors with Upper and Lower Cabinets

When you opt to paint your cabinets, you may want to consider creating a dramatic effect by using contrasting colors. To do this, you will choose one color for your upper cabinets and a different color for your lower cabinets. Usually, a lighter color is best-suited for the upper cabinets to help open up the kitchen and a darker color is ideal for the lower cabinets to ground the space.

Put Chalkboard Paint to Use

Chalkboard paint is all the rage nowadays. It is a creative way to add function to your kitchen without having to add clutter. You can turn a particular cabinet or just the ends of a cabinet into a message board that can be used for a grocery list, notes for each other or just funny pictures.
